Summary

"A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court" by Mark Twain is a story from the late 1800s that tells about Hank Morgan, an American mechanic who gets knocked on the head and wakes up in King Arthur's time. In this old world, Hank uses his modern smarts to deal with knights and magic, questioning how things were done back then. The story starts with someone telling about meeting a strange man at a castle, suggesting a mix of history and make-believe. It raises questions early on about whether kings should rule just because they're kings and, hinting that old traditions being questioned. Hank soon finds himself in Camelot, a prisoner of a knight, realizing he must either fit or fight the old-fashioned ways around him. With increasing confidence and humor, the story promises a funny look at just how different things were between modern times and the Middle Ages.
