Summary

"Finding Youth: A Human Experience" by Gertrude Nelson Andrews is a story from the 1900's, about searching for purpose and energy later in life. The story introduces us to Harvey Allen, a 60-year-old, who loses his job and feels lost as he struggles with getting older. Through conversations with his wife and Miss Marsh, Harvey finds a “Voice” inside himself that inspires him to find the spirit of his youth. This encourages him to seek out new journeys, leading him to a newspaper job where he finds a purpose. With a refreshed spirit he then founds “Youthland” a place where the elders can express themselves creatively.
