Summary

"Just—William" by Richmal Crompton is a funny book about a young boy named William Brown, who is always getting into trouble. The story follows this eleven-year-old as he tries to do good things, but they often go wrong in a hilarious way. At the beginning William gets some money and gets really excited about spending it on candy and seeing movies; the imaginative films inspire him, causing him to create funny events in his own life. Throughout his adventures, the book shows what it’s like to be a kid, especially when wanting to have fun clashes with what adults want. William's funny way of thinking and the mix-ups that happen because of it make the story charming and show just how innocently he can cause chaos.
