Summary

"Bluebeard; a musical fantasy" by Kate Douglas Smith Wiggin is a playful opera inspired by the classic Bluebeard tale, but with a fun twist. It tells the story of Fatima, Bluebeard's newest wife, who ignores all the warning signs and marries him anyway. Driven by extreme curiosity, Fatima sneaks into a forbidden room, where she learns the scary truth about what happened to Bluebeard's other wives. With help from Sister Anne and Mustapha, Fatima's story unfolds as a funny yet serious commentary on love, marriage, and the trouble that curiosity can cause, all wrapped up in a musical adventure.
