Summary

"Naudsonce" by H. Beam Piper is a science fiction story that looks at what happens when humans and aliens try to talk to each other. Humans find a new planet with humanoid aliens called Svants that have very different ways of understanding the world – they feel sound instead of hearing it. A group of Terrans, led by Paul Meillard, tries to make friends and start a colony, but it's hard because they don't understand how the Svants live and communicate. The Terrans want to share their technology, but this causes problems with the Svant's way of life. The book shows how difficult and important it is to truly understand each other, and makes you think about what's right and wrong when exploring new worlds.
