"Tartuffe; Or, The Hypocrite" by Molière is a humorous play about a family torn apart by deception, where a seemingly pious individual manipulates a man, leading to chaos as the family tries to reveal the truth behind the fraud. The story begins with a family in turmoil after being deceived by a guest, and their attempts to open the homeowner's eyes to the deception. The narrative presents the family's mounting anger and their schemes to unmask the title character's manipulation, while highlighting the clash between true beliefs and fake practices. A strong-willed family takes on a conman in this narrative about deception and blind adoration.

About the Author

Jean-Baptiste Poquelin, known by his stage name Molière, was a French playwright, actor, and poet, widely regarded as one of the great writers in the French language and world literature. His extant works include comedies, farces, tragicomedies, comédie-ballets, and more. His plays have been translated into every major living language and are performed at the Comédie-Française more often than those of any other playwright today. His influence is such that the French language is often referred to as the "language of Molière".
