Summary

"The Albany Depot: A Farce" by William Dean Howells is a funny play set in a Boston train station's waiting area, where everyday interactions turn hilariously chaotic. Mr. Edward Roberts is waiting to meet his family's new cook, but because he does not know what she looks like, he ends up talking to the wrong woman. This causes a series of funny mix-ups that draw in his friend, Willis Campbell, and an angry husband, making the situation even more ridiculous. The whole story shows how easily things can go wrong and how humor can be found even when things get really confusing, leading to the cook's eventual arrival and a funny resolution.
