Summary

"Much Darker Days" by Andrew Lang is a story with a funny, but serious, spin on love stories. Set in the middle class, the book explores how chasing after dreams and doing bad things for love can backfire. It's about Basil South, a showman who really likes Philippa but gets caught up in her problems with her husband, Sir Runan. Things get messy when Philippa accidentally kills Sir Runan, and Basil tries to cover it up. As Basil deals with strange characters and crazy situations, his plans start to fall apart, revealing how silly and complicated people can be.

About the Author

Andrew Lang was a Scottish poet, novelist, literary critic, and contributor to the field of anthropology. He is best known as a collector of folk and fairy tales. The Andrew Lang lectures at the University of St Andrews are named after him.
