Summary

"Angling Sketches" by Andrew Lang is a series of writings about fishing during the end of the 1800s. The book looks at the writer's own stories and thoughts about fishing, pointing out his funny problems with it and the loveliness of nature. Lang shows himself as someone who isn't very good at fishing but still loves doing it, even when he doesn't catch anything. The beginning part tells readers about Lang's funny admissions of his mistakes and weaknesses as a fisherman. He talks about his different accidents, like losing his gear and not knowing how to fish the right way. Even though he's not great at it, he really likes fishing and the peace that comes with it. The book also includes essays that have been printed before, showing how much people have always loved fishing in the pretty areas of Scotland.
