Fore!

"Fore!" by Charles E. Van Loan is a funny story that takes place in the early 1900s that explores how people act while playing this sport, and mostly focuses on the fun and quirky things that happen when they're trying to hit the ball right. Wally Wallace is the main character of this novel. He is a young golfer is constantly getting stuck behind a group of older, slower golfers called the Big Four. This causes a lot of funny moments as Wally gets more and more frustrated with their slow play. The story begins with Wally and his friend stuck behind the Big Four, who are so slow that they don't even notice they're holding everyone up. Wally tries to get them to let him play through, but that draws him into the country club's world of social rules and customs, creating lots of humorous events, rivalries, and funny incidents along the way.
