Summary

"The Latter-Day Prophet: History of Joseph Smith Written for Young People" by George Q. Cannon, recounts the life of Joseph Smith for a young audience, detailing his role as a prophet and leader within the Latter-day Saint movement. Starting with Joseph's birth on a cold winter day in 1805, the book traces his family's journey through religious uncertainty, stimulated by revivals, and shows young Joseph's quest for faith. A pivotal moment arrives when, at age fourteen, Joseph's prayer leads to a profound vision: he learns existing churches are flawed and that he has a divine purpose as a leader, setting the foundation for the extraordinary story of his life and sacred mission.
