Summary

"The Interloper" by Violet Jacob is a story placed in the Scottish Lowlands during the beginning of the 1900s. Gilbert Speid comes back to Whanland, his family's old home, to uncover his family's past and find his role at the estate. The story looks into ideas like family history and who you are as Gilbert gets to know the people around him, such as his family lawyer, Alexander Barclay. He also comes face-to-face with his family, including the Misses Robertson, who help expose long-held hidden details from his family's previous life. As Gilbert figures out both his identity and relationships, he must manage the expectations of both his family and the community.

About the Author
