Summary

"Our Little Lady" by Emily Sarah Holt is a window into 13th-century England through the eyes of Avice, a nursery-maid caring for a voiceless princess within the walls of the Royal Palace, where the story paints a vivid picture of life in Lincoln, showcasing the grandeur of the Cathedral and the daily struggles of its people. The book explores the princess's unique journey to connect with faith despite her inability to speak or hear, as Avice navigates not only her duties, but challenges the constraints and social expectations of the Middle Ages. The novel contrasts the riches of royalty with the personal challenges faced by the characters, creating a rich tapestry of faith and human connection in a harsh, bygone era.
