Summary

"Tales from Shakespeare" by Charles Lamb and Mary Lamb is a collection that introduces Shakespeare's plays to young readers through updated stories. The book starts with a preface that tells how abridged tales make it easier to understand Shakespeare’s stories for young audiences. "The Tempest" is where we meet Prospero, a duke with magic powers, and his daughter Miranda living on an island full of spells. The story shows Prospero using his powers to get his dukedom back, and how love, betrayal, and forgiveness come into play when other characters are shipwrecked and learn important things about who they are.
