Summary

"Tales from Shakespeare" by Charles and Mary Lamb is a collection of stories taken from William Shakespeare's plays, rewritten for kids in the 1800s. These stories help young people get into Shakespeare by making the language easier to understand while keeping the main ideas. For instance, you'll read about Prospero and Miranda living on a mysterious island, which is the first story in the book. It explains how Prospero became stuck there after his mean brother Antonio tricked him. Then, Prospero uses his powers to cause a storm, bringing his enemies to the island. In the story, Miranda feels bad for the people in the storm, but Prospero has a plan to deal with those who hurt him. The whole collection gets you interested in Shakespeare and the themes of forgiveness.
