The Mantooth

"The Mantooth" by Christopher Leadem is a science fiction and fantasy narrative that centers around Kalus, a young man from a primitive tribe, who faces exile after showing mercy to a starving wolf. Now an outcast, he’s forced to navigate a brutal landscape populated by monstrous beasts and shadows of an ancient, lost society. His path intertwines with Sylviana, a girl who appears from an enigmatic background steeped in the relics of a forgotten, advanced civilization. As they confront the daily dangers of their prehistoric world, their tentative alliance evolves into a profound connection, testing the limits of their humanity and exploring the delicate balance between instinct and compassion in a wild, untamed world.
