Comrade Yetta

"Comrade Yetta" by Albert Edwards is a story about a girl named Yetta Rayefsky who comes of age in a tough world. Set in New York City's East Side, the novel portrays Yetta’s life as the daughter of a bookseller amidst poverty and the fight for fairness for workers. Her dad, Benjamin Rayefsky, is a kind man who teaches her about love and doing what's right. When Yetta's father dies after an attack, she is forced to grow up quickly and work in harsh conditions. The early parts of the story show Yetta going from a protected kid, to a young woman who fights for her future and a better world for others like her.
