Summary

"Where There is Nothing" by W. B. Yeats is a play that tells the compelling story of Paul Ruttledge, a man restless with his ordinary existence, who yearns for a life unbound by society's rules. Feeling disconnected from those around him, including his own family, Paul is drawn to the freedom represented by the tinkers, wandering travelers who live outside the bounds of conventional life. He sheds his old identity, embracing the clothes and spirit of a tinker, as he ventures on a journey to discover a more genuine and meaningful way of life, challenging the expectations of the world he leaves behind.
