Jim Spurling, Fisherman or Making Good

"Jim Spurling, Fisherman" by Albert W. Tolman is an early 20th-century story about Jim Spurling and his buddies during a summer of fishing and labor on Tarpaulin Island off the Maine coast. The story kicks off with high school seniors cooking up summer plans, where Jim suggests working on his Uncle Tom's island. Friends Roger Lane and Winthrop Stevens decide to join, and surprisingly, so does Percy Whittington, a rich kid not really built for hard work. Through their time in this new environment, their vastly different backgrounds create challenge and plenty of laughs as they adapt to their responsibilities.
