"Captains Courageous: A Story of the Grand Banks" by Rudyard Kipling is a tale from the late 1800s, telling of Harvey Cheyne, a pampered kid from a rich family, who takes an unexpected tumble into the ocean and is pulled from the waves by some fishermen.
