Summary

"Riven Bonds. Vol. II." by E. Werner is a story set in the late 1800s about complicated feelings and connections involving Captain Hugo Almbach, his separated wife Ella, and Reinhold Almbach. The story focuses on love, being unfaithful, and the fight to make your own choices as the characters deal with their linked lives. The story kicks off with a tense meeting between Captain Almbach and Ella, who seem stuck because of things that happened before. When Captain Hugo comes back into Ella's world, it causes a face-off full of old complaints and desires. Reinhold, in the meantime, struggles with how he feels about both Ella and Beatrice, a famous actress. Things get more intense as choices from the past and what people want now clash, suggesting more problems to come. This story looks at fixing personal problems and deep emotions in a well-described Italian world. Readers might think about what love means and the connections that both join and break people apart.
