Summary

"Snake and Sword: A Novel" by Percival Christopher Wren, follows the lives of Colonel Matthew Devon de Warrenne, his wife Lenore, and their son Damocles in British colonial India. This tale examines bravery, love, and how past family experiences influence their lives. When grief takes over, Colonel de Warrenne presents his Victoria Cross to Lenore. Later, Lenore faces a dangerous situation where she must find courage to protect her unborn child, which points to the importance of bravery and fear in their lives, especially Damocles's.
