Summary

"The Key to Betsy's Heart" by Sarah Noble Ives is a story about a young girl, Betsy, whose life is turned upside down by her father's disappearance and her mother's sickness which force her to stay with her Aunt Kate and Uncle Ben where she has to learn how to be happy in her new environment while still being sad and worried about what happened with her family. The book begins by showing Betsy dealing with sad feelings as she comes to her new big house, but she also has some happiness because of the love from her new family and the lessons she learns about respecting herself and having good manners.
