The Staying Guest

"The Staying Guest" by Carolyn Wells is a story about how different people can learn to care about each other. Two older sisters, Miss Priscilla and Miss Dorinda Flint, have their lives turned upside down when their niece, Ladybird Lovell, shows up unexpectedly at their old house. Ladybird is happy and full of life, unlike her aunts who are very strict and set in their ways. When Ladybird, who is now an orphan, asks to stay with them, it causes funny situations, especially with her dog, Cloppy. The story shows how they try to get used to each other, and how they learn about love and accepting people who are different from them.
