Summary

"A Frog He Would A-Wooing Go" by Randolph Caldecott is a charming children's story from the late 1800s, which presents the comical escapades of a frog who seeks the affections of a lovely mouse, leading him on an adventure filled with encounters with fellow animals. The tale, reminiscent of classic children's stories, is brought to life through lively pictures that capture the imaginations of young readers as it follows a brave frog, pushed by his mother, to visit Miss Mousey with romance in mind. Accompanied by a rat on his journey to Miss Mousey’s home, the duo hopes for music and good times, but their enjoyment is cut short by a cat and her kittens, leading to a surprising series of events and a tough ending for the frog because of a duck. With humor and playful trouble, the story becomes a captivating experience that touches on friendship, courage, and the chances of what life may bring.
