Summary

"My Friend Bobby" by Alan Edward Nourse is a science fiction story that tells about a young boy named Jimmy and his special dog, Bobby. It looks at how kids see the world, how families can be complicated, and how lonely it feels when no one understands you. Jimmy and Bobby are best friends, but Jimmy can also hear his mother's thoughts, which causes problems because she does not understand him. After a doctor visits, things get even worse, and Jimmy's parents leave. Jimmy is left with only Bobby and his imaginary panda, leaving readers to reflect on the challenges of childhood when being different is difficult.
