Summary

"Satan and the Comrades" by Ralph Bennitt is a comical and imaginative story that looks at authority, government matters, and the silly mistakes people make, all through what happens in Hell. It's a funny but serious look at what's bad and what doesn't make sense in life, using the character of Lucifer, or Nick, who wants to make Hell better and get back into Heaven. Nick comes back to Hell after being on Earth for a bit and finds out about a plan by Andrei Broncov and his Communist friends to take over. Nick cleverly uses tricks and humor, including pretending to be someone else, to cause problems in the Soviet leadership. This shows how foolish and dishonest leaders can be, and Nick's funny actions show how ridiculous things can be, in both the living world and the afterlife, ending with a funny surprise that shows how power struggles keep happening over and over.
