Summary

"Mary Louise and the Liberty Girls" by L. Frank (Lyman Frank) Baum, tells the tale of a determined girl, Mary Louise, and her friends during World War I. Inspired by her grandfather’s dedication to the Liberty Bond campaign, Mary Louise ignites a patriotic fervor within her community. When a public meeting fails to inspire enough support, she takes initiative bringing her friends together on an important mission: to sell Liberty Bonds and boost their town's commitment to the war effort. However, the girls encounter opposition from disloyal citizens, such as Jake Kasker, who make their journey difficult. Mary Louise's patriotism in the midst of the challenges and conflicts becomes a symbol of loyalty and courage during wartime.
