Summary

"Nightmare Tales" by H. P. Blavatsky is a collection of strange stories that kicks off with "A Bewitched Life," pulling readers into a world where weird beauty meets deep thought. A narrator, troubled by mysterious visions and doubts about what's real, guides us through his past. The story starts with a frail main character stuck in bed in a little German town, drawn to flashbacks of a mystical scene across the street like a Swiss cottage with an old man writing with a quill. The man narrates his life, a series of challenges to his original beliefs about spirituality, like seeing the future and being reborn. It takes us on a mind-bending journey, diving into struggles and questioning what we think we know about life and death.
