Summary

** "Luxury--Gluttony: Two of the Seven Cardinal Sins" by Eugène Sue is a fiction book that looks at good and bad behavior through its characters. The story begins by presenting Count Frantz de Neuberg, a brave yet timid young man from the Élysée-Bourbon Palace. The people around him, including young secretaries and members of the court, watch him and Archduke Leopold Maximilian. As the story moves ahead, it shows how Frantz deals with the beautiful and wasteful world around him, especially in his relationship with a young girl named Antonine, hinting at a potential romance. While characters navigate court life, desires and motivations become evident as the plot builds, showing off the ways luxury and sin can mix. **
