The Time Armada

"The Time Armada" by Fox B. Holden is a science fiction story from the 1950s about Congressman Douglas Blair, a physicist turned politician, who juggles solving the world's problems while secretly working on an invention to see into the past. Tired of political conflicts like the troublesome McKenny bill, and reminiscing about dreams of space travel, Blair's life takes a sharp turn when his invention, the Contraption, suddenly sends him and his wife, Dorothy, spiraling into a strange future. There, they find exact copies of themselves living totally different lives, forcing them to confront tough questions about who they are, what time means, and how society can change, for better or worse.
