"The Claim Jumpers: A Romance" by Stewart Edward White is an adventure story about a young man named Bennington de Laney who heads to the American West, and finds himself in a mining town. He is hoping to find himself, and escape the life that his wealthy family has laid out for him. As he is trying to adjust to this new life, he meets some interesting people, including a mysterious girl named Rhoda while looking for open mining claims. Throughout the story, Bennington is on a journey to figure out who he is, while having some entertaining moments while learning about life in the old west. The stage is set for a love story, and also a journey for Bennington to grow up.
