Summary

"Half-Hours with the Stars" by Richard A. Proctor is a guide crafted to simply explain constellations. Focusing on astronomy, it offers detailed maps for American students to identify star groups throughout the year. With twelve maps that show the positions of the main constellations from the United States, a person can follow the changing skies with the seasons. Readers are shown how to use the maps efficiently and understand constellations and key stars. It strives to make astronomy easier to grasp for those who enjoy looking at the stars.

About the Author

Richard Anthony Proctor FRAS was an English astronomer. He is best remembered for having produced one of the earliest maps of Mars in 1867 from 27 drawings by the English observer William Rutter Dawes. His map was later superseded by those of Giovanni Schiaparelli and Eugène Antoniadi and his nomenclature was dropped.
