Summary

"The Tale of Betsy Butterfly" by Arthur Scott Bailey is a story set in Pleasant Valley, focused on the life of a butterfly named Betsy, and teaches kids about beauty, friendship, and dealing with jealousy. Betsy is a pretty butterfly who some creatures admire, like Master Meadow Mouse, but others like Mrs. Ladybug are jealous of her. A boy named Johnnie Green wants to add her to his collection, which makes things more complex. Betsy goes through some tough times, but she stays happy and learns to accept herself for who she is. This shows readers that it's important to be yourself and that friends are valuable, especially when not everyone is nice.
