Summary

"The Limit" by Ada Leverson is a story set sometime around the beginning of the 1900s that examines sticky relationships and how people treated each other. A main character is Valentia Wyburn, and the book follows her as she deals with her husband Romer, her cousin Harry de Freyne, and a rich man named Van Buren. The story seems to be about love, wanting what others have, and trying to find happiness while trying to do whats expected. Early on, Valentia and Romer talk about whether Romer should go to dinner with Harry, and its clear from the conversation that there's stress between them, especially when it comes to Daphne dating Van Buren. As the book goes on, what people say and what they mean creates both funny and awkward moments, and readers learn about the difficulties of marriage and family in British society back then, while exploring love and relationships.
