Summary

"Men of Affairs" by Roland Pertwee is a story about Richard Frencham Altar, whose posh life crumbles when his father's spending spree leaves his family broke and shamed. Richard's world turns upside down, and he's forced to face being poor and try to find his place in a society much different from the one he knew. From selling off his old fancy things to remembering his broken engagement with Doreen, we see Richard deal with losing everything and having to sleep on the streets. But a surprising run-in with a police officer suggests a chance for a fresh start, showing how he might just bounce back and find himself in the middle of life's craziness.
