Summary

"Burned Bridges" by Bertrand W. Sinclair is a story set in the wilds of Canada that follows Wesley Thompson, a fresh-faced missionary, as he confronts the raw realities of life far removed from his expectations. Arriving in the isolated settlement of Lone Moose, Thompson is driven by the desire to bring spiritual guidance, but he quickly discovers the community is more concerned with survival than salvation and must adapt. The remote setting and its tough inhabitants challenge Thompson’s beliefs. He is drawn to the community, especially to Sophie Carr. The story explores human connection, the clash between ideals and real life, and one man's journey to find his place in a world far different than he ever imagined.
