Summary

"Big Timber: A Story of the Northwest" by Bertrand W. Sinclair is a story that throws a young woman named Estella Benton into the tough world of early 1900s logging. Leaving her comfortable past behind, Estella travels to the Pacific Northwest to find her brother Charlie, who works as a lumberjack. The book kicks off with Estella's train ride to a rough logging camp, a place completely different from anything she's ever known. As she gets used to her strange surroundings, she questions who she is and what she's capable of. She feels alone and unsure as she meets the rough men of the camp, including her brother, who is now consumed by the demanding logging business. Experiencing the harsh realities of this new life, Estella must find her place and face the challenges head-on, beginning a journey that tests her strength.
