The Drivers

"The Drivers" by Edward W. Ludwig is a science fiction story that zooms into a future world obsessed with speed, where young people crave the rush of piloting high-speed jetmobiles called "Driving." This story follows Tom Rogers, a young man who is about to turn twenty-one, and is scared because of his family members dying in crashes. Tom must face high-pressure psychological tests to become a driver even though he doesn't want to. On his first day, he has to face the dangers of the road and his own fears, where in the process, he may find a sense of belonging in the community built on fast driving.
