The Boy Nihilist or, Young America in Russia

"The Boy Nihilist" by Allan Arnold is a story that unfolds in politically charged Russia, where young American William Barnwell finds himself entangled in a web of intrigue after inheriting a fortune and setting off on a trip around the world. An encounter with a mysterious stranger on the steamship Baltic sets off a series of events, leading Barnwell to agree to deliver a crucial envelope to Prince Mastowix in St. Petersburg, despite warnings from his friends. Naively accepting this task, he becomes involved in the dangerous world of Nihilists, a group challenging the Russian regime, pulling him into high-stakes conflicts with secret societies and authorities. Barnwell's journey transforms from simple sightseeing to a fight for freedom, filled with challenges and personal jeopardy, testing his ideals as he navigates a world far more complex than he ever imagined.
