Summary

"Maud Florence Nellie; or, Don't care!" by Christabel R. Coleridge is a story about a fifteen-year-old girl named Florrie, who lives in the town of Rapley during the late 1800s. Florrie is full of energy and doesn't pay attention to what people expect of her. The book shows us what it's like to be young and a little bit wild. We see how Florrie acts with her family, like her younger brothers and sisters and her aunt, and how she gets along with her friends. She is always getting into playful trouble and doesn't really care about the rules. The story begins with Florrie getting ready for Sunday school, but she worries more about how she looks. Her family lives near a cemetery, and her interactions with them show how fun-loving and rebellious she is. Her attitude sets the stage for the exciting things that are going to happen to her.
