Mother Goose for Grown-ups

"Mother Goose for Grown-ups" by Guy Wetmore Carryl is a playful book of poems that puts a funny spin on well-known nursery rhymes for adults. Written with clever wordplay, this collection presents classic children's characters in amusing situations colored by satire to make the stories appealing to older readers. Familiar characters like Little Bo-Peep and Humpty Dumpty face ridiculous problems that show their faults and the funny outcomes of what they do. Each poem is meant to be both funny and also have a lesson, all while making fun of society in a lighthearted way that makes it fun to read for people who like smart writing and funny takes on childhood stories.
