Summary

"One Snowy Night" by Emily Sarah Holt is a historical fiction story that takes place long ago in Oxford, England, where a family navigates the difficult times during the first persecutions of Christians by other Christians. The story begins with Isel and her children, especially Flemild, as they worry about their missing family and try to go about their day. Flemild and her sister bravely go out to get water, and on their journey, they meet some foreign strangers looking for a safe place. With a kind heart, Flemild offers her home to these newcomers. The early parts of the story show the family facing hardships, showing their strength, and building a feeling of community while dealing with growing tensions in a society torn apart by prejudices.
