Summary

"Flower of the Dusk" by Myrtle Reed is a story set in a time when families faced hard circumstances every day. It revolves around Ambrose North, a musician who can't see, and his sweet daughter, Barbara, who deals with her own health issues. They live with their Aunt Miriam, who helps them a lot. The story opens with Ambrose standing on a cliff, thinking about happy and sad things while watching the spring sunset. When Ambrose goes back home, his loving daughter Barbara and Aunt Miriam are there; they have been taking care of things since Ambrose's wife died, whose name was Constance. Even though they don't have much money, they try to be happy, but inside, they are still troubled by Constance's death. The story shows how strong their love is for each other and the challenges of dealing with the past.
