Harper's Round Table, September 24, 1895

** "Harper's Round Table, September 24, 1895" by Various is a collection of stories from the late 1800s designed for young readers. It presents stories and pictures that blend made-up tales with important morals and exciting adventures. A key narrative introduces Grazella Hickins, a young girl visiting from the city, and Gideon, a local boy, and shows how the two children begin to understand each other. Grazella tells stories of her life back home, including problems with her family, and forms a connection with a cousin, Jicksy. The initial interaction shows Gideon's strong desire to start his own business and his fascination with Grazella. The stage is set for a story that may have an underlying current of friendship, difficulties, and the way different lives come together. **
