The Druidess: A Story for Boys and Others

"The Druidess: A Story for Boys and Others" by Florence Gay is a journey into the chaotic world of ancient Britain, where clashing cultures and fervent beliefs collide. We meet Cormac, a valiant Briton prince, and Ethne, a determined Druidess, as their people clash with the invading Saxons. The book starts amidst a brutal battle where the Britons face defeat and desperation, but these two find their fates intertwined after Cormac is badly wounded and rescued by Ethne and a Saxon woman. As Cormac heals, he struggles with his sense of self and the conflict between his Christian background and Ethne’s powerful Druidic faith. This sets the scene for a story packed with complex relationships, cultural clashes, and the relentless fight for survival in a land torn apart by war and differing ideals.
