Summary

"The Bojabi Tree" by Edith Rickert is a charming early 20th-century children's story where hungry animals band together to find the name of a special tree and save themselves from starvation. Robin Rat, Pinky Pig, Giddy Goat, and Tommy Tortoise each try to get the tree's name, "Bojabi," from King Leo, but face funny problems that keep them from remembering it. Eventually, Tommy Tortoise uses his smart thinking and makes up a song to keep the name in mind and shares it with everyone. Because of Tommy Tortoise's cleverness, the animals are happy and name him their king because of his wisdom.
