Summary

"Peggy" by Laura Elizabeth Howe Richards is a story where a girl named Peggy Montfort starts at Miss Russell's School and has to learn how to make friends and deal with being away from home. The story shows how difficult it can be to fit in when Peggy feels lost and misses her old life. As she unpacks reminders of home, a new friend named Bertha helps her feel less alone. Peggy is nice and brave, but other students at the school can be mean, especially to a shy girl named Lobelia. You'll meet many different kinds of people at the school as Peggy tries to find her place and grow up.
