"The Outdoor Chums on the Lake; Or, Lively Adventures on Wildcat Island" by Captain Quincy Allen, follows the Outdoor Chums—Frank, Jerry, Bluff, and Will—as they go on a thrilling camping trip to Wildcat Island. Their adventure begins with a canoe race that turns into a rescue mission when they spot a fire on the steamboat "Eastern Star," and Frank helps put out the fire, and they soon learn about the theft of an important packet.
