"Peace" by Aristophanes is a funny play from a long time ago, around the 5th century BC, when Greece was in the middle of a big war called the Peloponnesian War. The story is about a regular guy named Trygaeus who is really tired of the war messing everything up, so he goes on a crazy mission to save the goddess Peace from the bad guy, War. The play shows how much the Greek people wanted peace and how much the constant fighting was hurting them. Trygaeus even trains a giant dung beetle to fly him all the way to Olympus so he can talk to Zeus about the war. But, he finds out the gods left because they were sick of the fighting, and only War is left, planning to cause even more trouble. It sets the stage for a funny adventure where Trygaeus tries to bring Peace back to Earth and teaches everyone about how silly war is.
